What's gonna stop you losing that belly fat.

In this Post John discusses the converse and what could be preventing you from shifting that gut and making the progress you want. If you are really serious about losing belly fat, there are some basic elements that you need to understand. Firstly, if you start starving yourself, you'll only damage your body in the long term. Not eating will not help to get lose belly fat and get a flat tummy. In fact, it won't help your body in any way for that matter. If you're having difficulties shifting the fat around your stomach, in spite of all your efforts, it could be any one of the 5 reasons listed below.

1. You're Not Eating Healthily.
If you are eating the wrong foods, you won't get a flat tummy, even if you are eating less. The best foods for losing belly fat are 'real' foods that are whole and unprocessed. Processed foods are those that come in packet, tin, box or bag. You need to eat foods that make you feel good, keep you full between meals and give you energy you need to exercise.





2. You're Not Doing Any Exercise.
Exercising and eating right are two necessary components for losing belly fat. If the thought of going to the gym does not appeal to you then it is time to try other forms of exercising until you find something that you look forward to doing. If you want to keep fit and get a flat tummy there are plenty of ways to exercise at home or outdoors.

3. You're Not Putting Your Health First.

Putting your health first may mean getting up 30 minutes earlier to exercise before work, or eating a healthy lunch you brought from home. People with too much fat on their stomach have a tendency for increased cholesterol, increased blood sugar and higher blood pressure. When you start losing belly fat it means that you are at a lower risk of diabetes, heart disease and stroke.

4. There Is Too Much Stress In Your Life.
Stress can affect more than just your thoughts and emotions. Although it sounds like an unusual way to lose the fat on your stomach, reducing your stress can actually help you to lose belly fat naturally. Stress causes hormonal imbalances in the body. In particular there is a hormone called cortisol that becomes unbalanced and causes fat to accumulate around the waistline.

5. You're Consuming Too Much Alcohol.
If you want to get a flat tummy, what you drink is as important as what you eat. Just by reducing the amount of alcohol you drink can drastically improve your body. Alcohol is very high in calories and can cause you to collect fat specifically in your abdomen. When you drink a lot of alcohol, you'll have more problems with fat around the middle.
